Blast Chillers

Since 2004, the foundry has successfully mastered the technology of casting refrigeration plates for blast furnaces.

In the period 2008-2009. in 10 months 426 refrigerators with a total weight of 960 tons were cast for overhaul of DP No. 1. Particular attention is paid to the manufacture of coils and their preparation for pouring metal. The coils were made of steel pipe with a wall thickness of 6 mm, and only 1 weld was allowed, provided that the coil length was more than 4 m, a special coating was also created to protect the pipe material from carburization during metal pouring.

The manufacturing accuracy and surface cleanliness made it possible to dispense with the need for fitting, grinding, or other operations that adversely affect the durability of installed cooling elements when installing refrigerators on an oven.

Steel castings in stock

Since the commissioning of the IST2 steelmaking furnace, the foundry quickly mastered the production of a wide range of steel castings for the metallurgical industry as soon as possible:

• loopholes
• slags, and much more.

Steel molds produced by the foundry of PJSC "KMZ" for pouring machines of the blast furnace showed excellent resistance and are not inferior to the best competitors in terms of basic indicators and characteristics.
