General Purpose shell-and-tube heat Exchangers
According to their purpose, the devices are divided into heat exchangers (T), refrigerators (X), condensers (K) and evaporators (I).
By design: for devices with fixed tube sheets (type H); with a temperature compensator on the casing (type K); with floating head (type P) and with U-shaped pipes (type U).
Heat exchangers are designed for heating and cooling various media with a temperature of heat exchanging media from −30 to +350 ° С (types of heat pumps and heat pumps) and from −30 to +450 ° С (types of heat exchangers and technical specifications).
Refrigerators - for cooling various liquid or gaseous media with fresh, sea water or refrigerants with the temperature of the medium being cooled in the jacket from 0 to +300 ° С (types ХН and ХК) and from 0 to +400 ° С (type ХП) and the temperature of the medium being cooled in pipes from -20 to +60 ° С.
Condensers - for condensation and cooling of vaporous media with fresh, sea water or other refrigerants with a temperature of the condensed medium in the casing from 0 to +300 ° C (types KN and KK) and from 0 to +400 ° C (type KP) and the temperature of the medium to be cooled in pipes from -20 to +60 ° С.
Evaporators - for heating and evaporation of various liquid media with the temperature of the heating and evaporated media from −30 to +350 ° С (types IN and IK) and from −30 to 450 ° С (types of IP and IU).
Refrigerating condensers (type KT) - for liquefying refrigerant in ammonia and hydrocarbon (propane, propylene) refrigeration units for general industrial purposes, operating within the temperature range of the condensed refrigerant from 0 to +100 ° C, at a temperature of the cooling medium from -20 to +50 ° C ...
Refrigeration evaporators (IT type) - for the cooling water and the solution pressure to about 0.6 MPa (6 kgf / cm 2) in ammonia and hydrocarbon (propane, propylene) refrigeration systems for general industrial use, operating within the saturation temperatures from -40 to +40 ° C; liquid process media pressure of 1-2.5 MPa (10-25 kgf / cm 2) units operating in the saturation range of -60 to +40 ° C.
Heat exchangers of types P and U are used when there is a significant temperature difference between the walls of the casing and pipes, as well as, if necessary, mechanical cleaning of the tube bundle from the outside.
Heat exchangers are manufactured:
- by location - vertical (types H, K and P) and horizontal (types H, K, P and U);
- by the number of strokes in the tube space - one-way (types Ni K), two-way (types H, K, P and Y), four-way (types H, K and P) and six-way (types H, K and P);
- by layout - single and double;
- according to the material of the main assemblies and parts - with parts of the pipe and annular spaces made of carbon or corrosion-resistant steel; with parts of the pipe space made of corrosion-resistant steel, and the shell space made of carbon steel; with brass or aluminum-magnesium alloy pipes and carbon steel shell parts.
Heat exchangers are manufactured with casings with a diameter of 159, 273, 325, 400, 426, 630, 630, 800, 1000, 1200 and 1400 mm (for types H and K), 1600, 1800 and 2000 mm (for type H), 325,400,426,500,530,600,630,800, 1000, 1200 and 1400 mm (for types P and U) and 800, 1000, 1200, 1600, 2400, 2600 and 2800 mm (for evaporators of types P and U).
For standard heat exchangers of types H and K, pipes 20 × 2 and 25 × 2 mm are used; for P-type devices - pipes 20 × 2, 25 × 2 and 25 × 2.5 mm; for U-type devices - pipes 20 × 2 mm.
In shell-and-tube heat exchangers with fixed tube sheets and with a temperature compensator on the casing, the tubes are located at the vertices of an equilateral triangle. Placement of holes for pipes in tube sheets and partitions - in accordance with GOST 15118-79, GOST 22485-77 and GOST 2.2486-77.
In shell and tube heat exchangers with U-tubes, heat exchangers and refrigerators with a floating head, the tubes are located at the vertices of a square or an equilateral triangle; in capacitors with a floating head - along the vertices of an equilateral triangle; in evaporators with a vapor space - along the vertices of the square. Placement of holes for pipes in tube sheets and partitions - in accordance with GOST 13202-77 (for type P devices) and GOST 13203-77 (for type U devices). Pipes in tube sheets are fastened by flaring or welding with flaring in accordance with GOST 26-02-1015-74.
