BOP Gantry and Semi Gantry Cranes  

Protea offers Offshore BOP (Blow-Out-Preventer) Gantry and Semi Gantry Cranes for the new generation drilling rigs.

The weight of BOP valves have already reached 400 tonnes. To cope with such heavy equipment handling needs Protea manufactures Offshore BOP Gantry Cranes with lifting capacity of up to 550mT and the height of 30m.  

The Hoisting System consists of two Main Winches, each with lifting capacity of up to 275mT. Additionally the cranes are equipped with a special system of supporting and moving the load and in a radio remote control. It makes the exploitation of the device easy and unproblematic. The BOP Cranes are hydraulically driven and they are adapted to working in the potential explosion zone.  

To minimize the weight of BOP cranes Protea applied very advanced strength calculation methods. A well-thought arrangement of service platforms and ladders provides easy access to all areas and makes the crane operations and maintenance easy and safe.
