JSC "Whamz"

UEMZ, located in Yekaterinburg, has been part of the state corporation Rosatom since 2009. The enterprise produces electrical equipment for the civilian industry, fuel and energy complex and nuclear power plants. It was formed on the basis of the Leningrad Electromechanical Plant, which was evacuated to the Urals at the beginning of the war. The enterprise produced parts for Katyusha and telegraph and encryption equipment. In the 1960s, UEMZ became part of the country's defense complex. It launched the production of high-precision devices for automation systems for the space industry. In 1971, the plant's work was recognized with the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
