Description:
The ColonyStar automatic is a colony counter designed for the evaluation of petri dishes in food industry, medical, and microbiology applications. The complete system includes a scanner and a tablet computer. The device significantly reduces laboratory workload through automated colony counting. It offers three operating modes: single-shot (manual) mode for individual evaluation with image zoom and touchscreen marking; semi-automatic (assistance) mode where after marking one colony, similar colonies are automatically detected based on size, shape, color, contrast, and brightness; and fully automatic mode using trained profiles for counting petri dishes in seconds without manual intervention. The device operates on 220V, 50Hz with 24V output. The tablet runs on Android operating system. The device is IP20 rated with an operating temperature range of 5-20°C.
