Mechanical column Scraper (Scraper)
The mechanical scraper is a one-piece tubular body with a through hole for washing; at the upper and lower ends, coupling and nipple connecting threads are made. In the longitudinal grooves of the casing, six die-type blades are installed with the possibility of radial movement with a wear-resistant hardened surface of the cutting edges (the hardness is limited by the hardness of the column of pipes to be cleaned).
The forces pressing the blades to the surface of the pipe being cleaned are created due to the action of the compressed springs. In the grooves of the casing, the blades are held by a split ring fixed by four screws. The blades are located on the body in two tiers, three in each, providing a cleaning of one hundred percent of the perimeter of the inner surface of the pipe. The column is cleaned during the descent of the scraper into the well using drill or tubing, while the blades sliding on the surface to be cleaned cut off irregularities and pollution.
A scraper descends into the well on tubing or drill pipe. Cleaning is carried out along the entire length of the column or at certain intervals. Cleaning is carried out by reciprocating tool movement (downward stroke) and must be accompanied by continuous or periodic circulation of flushing fluid.
The mechanical scraper is operated at an ambient temperature from - 60⁰ С to + 120⁰ С, in environments: reservoir oil, water, associated petroleum gas with СО₂ content up to 6%.
Mechanical column scraper is indispensable for cases requiring particularly thorough cleaning, and, with skillful handling, does it in one pass.
