The calculation of the geological reserves of hydrocarbons, the accuracy of which meets modern world standards, is impossible without the creation of detailed 3-dimensional geological models of fields that must meet the following fundamental requirements:
- Integrate all available information on the geological, geophysical and field data.
- Rely on the knowledge base implemented in the bowels of the software package in the form of modules and algorithms unique to the field.
- Provide the possibility of applying professional geological knowledge, the owner of which is the user of the software package.
The successfully used DV-Geo software packages ( officially recommended by the State Reserves Committee for the calculation of hydrocarbon reserves ) and DV-SeisGeo, which can always be used to achieve a reliable reserves calculation result, help to implement these principles at TsGE JSC.
Based on them, an effective technology has been created, including:
- creation of a geological-geophysical and production data base with intuitive access to subject area objects;
- providing a joint dynamic figurative visualization of the source data and the results of their interpretation;
- the possibility of flexible planning by the user of the stages of geological modeling;
- effective selection of parameters of mapping algorithms with an arbitrarily large number of heterogeneous geological and geophysical data and a variety of tasks to be solved, which allows to obtain high quality and geological reliability results;
- the use of effective algorithms and programs for three-dimensional modeling, allowing to achieve the maximum correspondence of the image of the three-dimensional model to the geologist's view and the source data;
- the use of specially developed unique algorithms that allow to fully coordinate three-dimensional models and layered maps for reserves and detailed geological structure, which provides a positive solution for the examination of the GKZ.
The technological chain implemented using DV software systems is as follows:
- Creation of a base and generalization of initial geological, geophysical, and field information - including the results of regional geological studies covering stratigraphy, tectonics, paleogeomorphology, paleogeography, lithology, and facies sedimentation in the region.
- Analysis and synthesis of 2D and 3D seismic data. Construction of a structural-tectonic model of the field.
- Creation of a petrophysical model, processing and interpretation of GIS materials:
- analysis of core research, analysis of lithological and petrographic; petrophysical and filtration-capacitive properties of the layers along the core, the construction of core-core relationships;
- building core-GIS, GIS-GIS, test-GIS relationships and substantiating a methodology for interpreting GIS materials;
- processing and interpretation of GIS materials, determination of the main parameters of reservoir layers (terrigenous and carbonate).
- Analysis of hydrodynamic studies of wells.
- Creating a digital geological model:
- correlation of productive deposits, allocation of facies zones;
- construction of a fundamental model of the field;
- determination of the position of interfluid contacts;
- allocation of counting objects;
- creation of digital 3D and 2D geological models of reservoirs.
- Calculation of geological reserves of hydrocarbons:
- substantiation of the physicochemical properties of formation fluids;
- substantiation of calculation parameters and calculation of geological reserves (by strata, allocated zones and categories) according to Russian classifications and SPE / WPC / AAPG classifications ;
- comparing the estimated hydrocarbon reserves with those on the balance sheet of the Russian Federation ;
- calculation of stocks of related components.
For 2002-2007 The specialists of JSC “TsGE” defended 16 projects for the calculation and operational recalculation of geological and recoverable hydrocarbon reserves in the State Reserves Committee of the Russian Federation and its regional branches.
