Description:
A cantilever crane is a crane whose lifting device (hoist) moves along a rotating console (boom) fixed to the crane column or building column/wall. The boom turning radius can be up to 360°. The turning radius can be limited by the crane design, as well as by limit switches and rigid stops. If desired, it is possible to set any angle of console turning. Cantilever cranes are used less often than bridge cranes, since this type of crane is purchased to perform a specific production task, for example, to a turning section to feed a part to a lathe. The crane design is selected based on the placement features and production tasks for which the crane is purchased. A stationary cantilever crane is so called because it is fixed to the floor (foundation). Much attention should be paid to the choice of foundation. Large-capacity cantilever cranes are installed on a foundation prepared in advance based on the characteristics of the crane. The second option for installing the crane is to fasten it using himankers (possible for small-capacity cantilever cranes, provided that the thickness of the floor covering can withstand the load of the operating crane).
