Railway diesel-electric cranes KZh-462, KZh-562, KZh-662 are designed to mechanize loading and unloading and transport and warehouse operations on 1520 mm gauge tracks. Cranes of this series are equipped with a multi-motor electric drive on a three-phase current with a voltage of 400 V, a frequency of 50 Hz. The electric drive is powered by a diesel-electric unit with a capacity of 100 kW. It is possible to operate the cranes with power from an external current source using a flexible cable. In the basic version, the cranes are manufactured with a 15 m boom and a load hook. Additionally, the cranes can be equipped with a 5 m boom insert, a grab for bulk cargo with a capacity of 1.2 m3 or 2 m3, a timber-gripping grab, a lifting electromagnet with the corresponding equipment, a track cleaning device. Extended boom cranes are used only for hook work. KZh-462, KZh-562, KZh-662 cranes are equipped with a load limiter, which serves to protect against overload and tipping over when lifting a load, to protect the working equipment from damage when working in confined spaces (coordinate protection), and to display information on the actual weight of the lifted load, maximum lifting capacity at a given reach, crane loading degree, reach value, boom head lifting height, crane rotation angle. The built-in technical characteristics recorder ensures recording and long-term storage of information on the operating parameters of the cranes, as well as on their loading degree throughout their entire service life. The driver's cabin is designed taking into account a single ergonomic and style solution that meets modern market requirements. The use of ABS plastic and noise-insulating materials made it possible to create a sound-absorbing heat-insulating lining of the inner surfaces of the driver's cabin. In terms of visibility from the driver's seat, the cabin surpasses prototypes and is not inferior to foreign analogues. The cabin is equipped with a modern microclimate normalization system, which has an autonomous diesel heater and air conditioner. On the control panel, instead of controllers, small switches (joysticks) are installed, which have a small amplitude and angle of rotation of the handle, which creates more comfortable conditions for the driver and improves the design of the control panel.
