Bentonite in drilling
Bentonite is used in the production of drilling fluids; it is the main visco-gelling agent and a decrease in the filtration rate of water-based drilling fluids, forming a thin protective crust on the borehole wall. High rheological properties of bentonite slurry provides effective removal of cuttings.
Bentonit Kurgan LLC, in accordance with TU 39-0147001-105-93, produces bentopowders for the production of drilling fluids of the following grades: PBMA, PBMB, PBMV, PBMG, PBN, which are characterized by a low content of sand fraction and have the following quality indicators:
INDICATORS | PBMA | PBMB | PBMV | PBMG | PBN |
Clay solution viscosity of 15 MPa * s, m 3 / t, not less than | 20,0 | 16,0 | 12.0 | 8.0 | 5,0 |
Mass fraction of moisture,%, no more | 12.0 | 12.0 | 12.0 | 12.0 | 12.0 |
Wet sieve analysis, sieve residue,% with mesh No. 0071, no more | 10.0 | 10.0 | 10.0 | 10.0 | 10.0 |
Filtration rate, cm 3 , no more | fourteen | fifteen | fifteen | fifteen | - |
Clay powder for drilling fluids has a quality certificate, as well as TEKSert and a certificate for the use of a chemical product in the technological processes of oil production and transportation.
Unique technologies for the production and processing of raw materials allow the production of OCMA GRADE BENTONITE, which meets the requirements of the specification API 13A (American Petroleum Institute).
Indicators | Suspension Properties
API Specification Requirements | Indicator value
Viscometer scale reading at 600 rpm | Minimum 30 | 32-35 |
The ratio of yield strength to plastic viscosity | 6.0 maximum | 5.6-6.0 |
The volume of the filtrate, ml. | Maximum 16.0 | 13.2-15.0 |
The remainder of the particles with a diameter of over 75 μm,% | 2.5% maximum | 1.5-2.0 |
The composition of bentopowders can be adapted according to customer requirements.
