The TKA260 turbocompressor developed at the FSUE “Turbonasos” is designed to supply air to the synthesis gas generator.
Design description
The working fluid for the turbine is the spent synthesis gas. Type of compressor centrifugal, single stage; type of turbine axial, single-stage; rotor shaft location is vertical.
TKA260 consists of a compressor part (casing, compressor wheel, rotating guide vane), a turbine part (casing, turbine wheel, nozzle apparatus), a supporting part (casing, radial and axial magnetic bearings, safety bearings) and a seal assembly.
The TKA260 turbocharger uses electromagnetic bearings instead of plain bearings, which increases the service life and reliability of the machine due to the practical elimination of wear of rotating parts, simplifies its operation and maintenance.
Advantages of using electromagnetic bearings:
- lack of dry friction;
- exclusion of the oil system;
- the ability to achieve high rotation speeds;
- controllability of stiffness and damping characteristics;
- vibration reduction;
- the possibility of suppressing resonance phenomena;
- high durability;
- reduction of costs for operation, maintenance and repair;
- the ability to work in a vacuum and aggressive environments.
Work description
The compressor performance is controlled by changing the rotor speed.
To control the rotor speed at the turbine inlet, a valve is installed that allows changing the flow rate and pressure of the synthesis gas in front of the turbine automatically according to the control system signals.
