Swivel Drilling BU-50BR
The swivel consists of a cast steel case with two pockets for slings. In the housing on 3 ball bearings mounted barrel. The middle bearing is the main support. He perceives the weight of the instrument. Lower and upper bearings center the barrel. The upper one simultaneously perceives axial loads from the weight of the swivel and related non-rotating elements.
The pressure (mud) pipe has a large length and, with its lower end, leaves the trunk into the cavity of the sub where the pressure seal is located. The gland is tightened through the pressure sleeve with hinged bolts pivotally mounted on the sub. The housing is also an oil bath for bearings.
Oil is poured into the bath through the hole in the lid, which is closed by a stopper. A hole is provided in the plug for the removal of oil vapor when the latter is heated during operation. To check the oil level in the bath, a control plug is provided. Sealing devices ensure the tightness of the oil bath against oil leakage from the bath and dirt from entering the bath from the outside, as well as fluid leakage through the joint of the mud pipe and sub.
