The quality management system (QMS) of Volgaburmash JSC regulates all aspects of the company’s work from the conclusion of contracts for the manufacture of products to its shipment to the consumer.

QMS is certified for compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001, as well as the standard of the American Petroleum Institute ANSI / API Spec.Q1.

Manufactured drill bits are certified to meet the standards of the American Petroleum Institute ANSI / API Spec. Q1, ANSI / API Spec. 7-1, the requirements of GOST 20692 and GOST 26474.

Each of the certificates is issued for a certain period, at the end of which a new audit is conducted. Thanks to the highly qualified engineers, the use of the latest equipment and technologies, as well as the control at each stage of the production process, Volgaburmash JSC successfully confirms compliance with international quality standards for more than 10 years.

All materials and components used in the manufacture of bits are subjected to careful input control. The laboratories of Volgaburmash JSC are equipped with the most modern equipment, which allows you to determine the content of an element in the incoming materials with an accuracy of 10-6%.

To test products at each stage of its production, special express laboratories are used. Before assembling the bit, all parts are checked for compliance with the requirements of design and technological documentation, and the finished bit is checked for compliance with established quality standards.

Samples of bits, depending on the diameter:
- up to 295.3 mm inclusive, pass acceptance bench and / or field tests;
- More than 295.3 mm pass acceptance field tests.

During testing, an assessment of the health of structures and their effectiveness is carried out, after which a decision is made on setting the design of drill bits for production or a decision is made to finalize the design and development.

Bench tests are carried out in the research laboratory of Volgaburmash JSC on drilling stands under conditions close to real ones. In the process of this procedure, it is possible to observe the nature and dynamics of the wear of individual weapons elements and drill bit supports. Only after obtaining positive results, pilot batches arrive at the customer for testing at the drilling rigs, accompanied by factory service engineers , where the possibility of their serial production is finally confirmed.

Drill bits from various regions of Russia and other countries, worked out at drilling complexes, are also delivered to the research laboratory. Their careful analysis allows us to identify ways to further improve designs and improve technological performance. Thanks to these studies, engineers of Volgaburmash JSC promptly receive information from consumers and improve products, constantly improving performance.
