Tensioners

Tensioners are supplied to complement the company’s carousels. Tensioners are used in loading out the product to be stored in the carousel from the shore storage or manufacturing facility. They can also be used for laying product in shallow water if specified.

MAATS Tech has successfully delivered over 24 load-out tensioners to date with several more under construction. Current designs range from 3T tension to 30T tension with the potential to be used for up to 40T tension due to their configurability. They can be used for a huge variety of products with a size capability ranging from 50mm to 650mm diameter pipes and cables.

The majority of tensioners delivered to date are of the two jaw tracked type, though a wheeled tensioner design is also available.

Both upper and lower tracks are driven by twin chains which provides for exceptional stability and the ability to handle stiff products which formerly required four track designs to handle. Due to their soft-touch mechanism, the company’s tensioners can also be used for particularly flexible products.
