Types and applications of seamless pipes

A seamless pipe , unlike an electric-welded water-gas supply water supply line, does not have a connecting seam, which positively affects its reliability and durability. Despite the high cost of such products, it is characterized by higher strength and uniformity, which allows the use of cold-drawn or hot-rolled pipes in engineering, oil refining and mining industries, as well as for the manufacture of supports for drilling rigs and other structures.

By the method of production distinguish between seamless hot-deformed pipes (GOST 8732 78, GOST 8731 74) and cold-deformed pipes (GOST 8734 75). The first type of product is manufactured by hot rolling of steel 09g2s on a special mill.

Cold-rolled seamless pipe is made of carbon steel by drawing on drawing equipment with subsequent heat treatment.

There are four quality classes of pipe products (A, B, C, D and E), which differ in steel grade, accuracy of production and mechanical parameters.
