Hammer drilling refers to shock-rotary drilling technologies and is most widely used in the field of engineering and geological surveys, as well as for drilling wells. Using drilling with a pneumatic tool, it is possible to create vertical and directional wells in the soil up to 10 drillability categories. The main distinguishing feature of the technique is that rock and shock are simultaneously used to destroy the rock, performed respectively by a hammer and a rotator of the drilling rig. The main advantages of drilling with a pneumatic hammer are the high speed of well creation, effective cleaning from sludge, the ability to work on rocky fractured rocks and abandon the cost of bentonite and the delivery of water for flushing.
