Functions of cantilever cranes: The design of this type of crane includes a console, which is a long beam of profile section, fixed to the wall of the room or support column. A lifting mechanism (hoist) equipped with a manual or electric drive moves along the bracket. The console, depending on the crane design, can be fixed movably or rigidly. Cantilever cranes can be used independently of other lifting devices. They can be operated as an auxiliary crane in the presence of a more powerful bridge crane or main gantry crane. This equipment is used to service machines and production lines, assembly and storage facilities, process units, sections located along the wall of the structure, etc. The maximum lifting capacity depends on the design (the presence of a trolley, type of drive) and for stationary devices.
