Fire Extinguishing system ATLAS-AQUA
System characteristics:
- Working pressure: 60-80 MPa.
- Water consumption (per sprayer): 13-22 l/min
- Area protected by one sprayer: from 16 to 25 m2
- Time to fill a room V=250m3 with super-dense water fog using one sprayer: 22 sec.
- Stainless steel piping
- Threaded connections with serviceability, "cutting ring" type.
- Complete suppression of fire outbreaks in 486 full-scale fire tests
- Passed tests for resistance to external factors.
- Approved for use by the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping
The main advantages of the Atlas-Aqua® system compared to gas volumetric fire extinguishing systems:
- the ability to activate from the first seconds of a fire, since the extinguishing agent is finely atomized fresh water without additives, there is no need to evacuate people or seal the premises;
- Ensuring volumetric cooling and a high degree of penetration into protected areas, due to the use of not just finely atomized, but ultra-finely atomized water (fine mist). Reducing the risk of re-ignition to almost zero;
- no pressure drops when the system is activated (the sprinkler system is continuously under pressure);
- binding and deposition of combustion products, preventing their spread
- multiple inclusion.
Important ! Unlike gas systems, there is no need to return to port for refueling and restoration of functionality; in the absence of fresh water in the tank, fire protection is provided by seawater.
Composition of the Atlas-Aqua® system:
- pumping unit;
- sectional deluge valves;
- sectional sprinkler valves;
- irrigators (sprinklers and drenchers);
- pump unit control panel;
- power supply panel;
- deluge valve control panel;
- control Panel;
- indicator panel;
- set of mounting parts (pipes, pipe clamps, tees, crosses, couplings, plugs, etc.)
The number of sprinklers, section valves and the capacity of the pump unit are determined by calculations and are set individually for each object. If necessary, the system composition is supplemented with non-standard elements.
Atlas-Aqua® system configuration
Pumping unit for Atlas-Aqua®
The pumping unit for Atlas-Aqua® generally consists of several pumping modules, one of which is the main one (with a booster pump and sensors). In a particular case, the pumping unit may consist of one main pumping module (with a booster pump and sensors).
In standby mode, fresh water without special additives is supplied to the pumping unit. Water quality must meet the requirements of GOST R 51232-98. In operating mode, it is permissible to use seawater, taking into account the provision of filtration fineness of no more than 250 microns. The water supply mode is controlled automatically from the pumping unit control panel/cabinet.
The pump unit can be started automatically (main), remotely, or locally (manually).
Sectional deluge valves
The sectional deluge valve is designed to separate the system pipelines into independent deluge sections. The normal position of the valve in the system standby mode is closed. The valve can also be opened remotely, automatically by signals from external systems and manually directly on the valve itself. The valve is closed manually when the pump unit is stopped.
Sectional sprinkler valves
The sectional sprinkler valve is designed to separate the system pipelines into independent sprinkler sections. The valve is controlled manually.
Sprinklers
Sprinklers are designed to spray water on a given area or volume of the protected premises. Depending on the type of system, drenchers or sprinklers are used as sprinklers. The type of sprinklers is determined together with the customer, when performing work on linking the system to a specific order, taking into account the type of protected premises, its height, the maximum coverage area of one sprinkler (for sprinklers), permissible distances to obstacles, permissible "blind zones" and other conditions.
Drencher Atlas-Aqua ®
Sprinkler Atlas-Aqua ®
Types of sprinklers used in the system according to the temperature at which the thermal lock (thermo flask) operates:
- 57 °C – recommended for use to protect residential and public premises, control posts;
- 68°С – recommended for use to protect electrical panels, power units and other rooms;
- 79°C – recommended for use in food preparation areas;
- 93°C – recommended for use in drying chambers and other rooms with temperatures above 50°C;
- 141°C – recommended for use to protect the sauna.
Pump unit control panel/cabinet
The control panel/cabinet is intended for:
- receiving and sending signals to the indicator panel, control panel, control and indicator panel, logic unit or other upper-level ship systems about the current operating mode of the pumping unit, as well as about the presence of a malfunction;
- remote control of the system: by automated opening of sectional deluge valves based on signals from the central control station, from local push-button control stations, or from the control panel/control and indication panel (if available).
- automatic control of the system by automatically opening the deluge section valves from the ship's or marine fire alarm system;
- determining the operating mode of the pumping unit and the water supply pump (if any);
- providing information about the current state of the system and its malfunctions to the ship's upper-level systems;
- sending a signal to the warning alarm system
The panel/cabinet is connected to the power supply panel/cabinet.
The Shield/cabinet provides the ability to send the following signals about the system status to external systems:
- system start-up (including indication of the extinguishing zone);
- presence of a malfunction (all pump units are not working, power supply is broken, etc.)
- lack of power supply;
- lack of water (in the water supply system of the pumping unit);
Power supply board
The power supply board is designed to supply power to the system components. The power supply board has a built-in automatic reserve input device. Switching from the main power source to the reserve one and back is performed automatically.
Control panel/cabinet for deluge valves
The control panel/cabinet for deluge valves is designed for:
- remote control of the system by automated opening of sectional deluge valves (up to 30) based on signals from the central control station, from local push-button control stations;
- automatic control of the system by automatically opening sectional deluge valves (up to 30) based on signals from the ship's or marine fire alarm system or other upper-level ship systems.
By agreement with the customer, it is possible to output signals from sectional sprinkler valves.
Control Panel
The control panel/control and indication panel is intended for:
- remote opening of deluge section valves (via control panel/cabinet)
- displaying the current state of the system and its malfunctions, as well as for giving sound signals when situations arise that require the operator's attention (functions of the indicator panel).
Set of mounting parts
(pipes, pipe clamps, tees, crosses, couplings, plugs, etc.)
All mounting parts included in the kit are made of stainless steel.
