Isothermal fire tanks for low pressure CO2 MPZhU "Vulkan" are designed for fire protection when extinguishing fires of classes "A" (solid flammable substances), "B" (liquid flammable substances) and "E" (extinguishing electrical equipment under voltage).

System appearance
The tank consists of the following main units:
- vessel
- thermal insulation casing
- cooling units
- pipelines
- locking and safety devices
- control panel
- filling nipples
- CO₂ mass control weighing device
The operating principle of the MPZhU "Vulcan" tank is based on long-term storage and supply of fire extinguishing agent from the tank through a shut-off and starting device (SSD), distribution devices, a pipeline system and spray nozzles into the protected area.
After the system has been activated, it is possible to fill (top up) the CO2 system with the help of a pumping station and bring the system into working condition within a short time interval (48 hours).
The control panel included in the tank ensures switching on and off of the refrigeration unit and electric heater to maintain pressure in the tank and control the position of the ZPU and other fittings.
