Support crane beams, similar to suspended ones, can be used both indoors and on sites under a canopy or in the open air. This type of cranes differs in the type of crane runway, which must be made in the form of a rail or a steel square profile, on which the crane is installed (supported), hence the definition of a "support" crane beam. When manufacturing a crane beam with a large lifting capacity and span length, the crane span is reinforced with a steel pipe.

The flanges of the crane beam wheels are made to be conical on the inside, and also have a reserve of 10 mm on each wheel, so the crane has a total of 20 mm of reserve to catch the unevenness of the crane runway within the above limits.
The crane's drive consoles are equipped with special rubber "buffers" to prevent the console from hitting the floors at the end of the crane runways.
